Submitting a Link

Do you want to submit a link to a site? Here's how it works:

You don't have to own a site to submit a link, but we do have some rules about which sites we will and will not accept.

  1. We will not link to a site whose primary purpose is gossiping about Vin's personal life.
  2. We will not link to a site that makes, permits, or encourages libelous comments, or has made, permitted or encouraged such comments in the past, about our members and/or administration.
  3. We will not link to a fan fiction site where the majority of the materials are things we wouldn't be able to archive ourselves due to subject matter (for example, stories depicting graphic underage sex, or stories about Vin as himself rather than one of his characters).
  4. If a site has an abundance of pop-ups, ads, or other scripts that are potentially harmful to browsers, we reserve the right to exclude it until and unless those are disabled.
  5. The Art of Vin Diesel reserves the right to refuse links for additional reasons, and under additional circumstances, that may occur in the future and not be foreseen or covered by the points on this page.

Send us an email with the following information:

  1. The name of the site.
  2. The exact address(es*) you want the link to point to.
  3. Which category or categories* the link should be in.
  4. Your relationship to the site.**
  5. Please submit a banner. The banner should be no more than 75 pixels high, and 550 pixels wide. Any larger and we will have to resize it before we can use it. ***

This email should be sent to links [at] art-of-vin-diesel [dot] com, with the subject name "Link Submission." Emails with other subject names may be treated as spam and discarded.

* You may submit a site for inclusion in multiple categories, under the following conditions only:
  • If the site spotlights a costar of Vin's, who has appeared with him in more than one film, you may have your link included in every movie category where he (or she) has appeared with Vin (for example, if you have a Cole Hauser site, he appeared with Vin in both Pitch Black and Escape From Butcher Bay, so your site's link could appear in both areas).
  • If you run multiple fanlistings out of a site, you can submit precise URLs for the pages for each relevant fanlisting, along with which category that particular fanlisting should be in. You should probably have a different banner for each one, though.
  • You cannot submit multiple pages from a single, general-Vin-fandom site, for inclusion in multiple categories. The entire site can appear in our "Other Vin Fan Sites" category, but we won't break it up by subpages.
** As stated before, you don't have to be the site's owner to ask for its inclusion. Bear in mind, however, that there is factionalism in any online fandom and some sites don't want to be associated with other sites, thanks to political squabbling. We may need to verify with the owner of a site that they have no objections to their site's inclusion on our pages, before we can actually upload the link to our pages.

*** If you don't actually have a link banner, we will be setting up a page for imageless links soon. But think of it a bit like your "Yellow Pages." People pay more attention to the big ads in those books than the little lines of text. You don't have to have a banner to get a link, but it'll definitely help if you want us to send visitors your way.
